Me ..2013

This note was written in early 2013 not knowing the big change was to happen in Q3 of the year. here is how the note was written then and kept in the draft folder..

2013 - A year with changes. I have not been updating my blog for quite a while, and I can say that almost none I wrote in 2012. Life has been quite a change from 2011 to 2012 and foremost, my children are all grown up now. 2013,  one left for college and one is with us for the final year of high school. Also, I have been in the profession for over a decade now with the upstream oil and gas company. The urge for a change is almost inevitable but I procrastinated, much to my regret..

My personal focus has been developing targetting individuals for success, in their lives or their skills and competencies. At least in the past three to five years, I can count those I invested my time for their development. If they stay, the Company gains, but I know that most of them would find a new nest to grow as a matter of choice. Some did find a nest to grow! Although one of my key responsibilities is to sustain the competitiveness for them to stay ;however, I cannot make them stay. It is the challenge for their leaders to make them want to stay.

In creating future from here, many people have just waited to see what will happen. My wife and I decided to plan and embark on a journey that will change how we will control and live our future and it has been excellent for both of us. Applying what we know best, we created our own trademark in the chosen industry; we developed our own high committed and high performing team, we created our own investment portfolio, we strived for our own fun and healthy activities and we expanded our own diversified interests in more things we see, including our expansion of interest in the network of people we interface with. But for most, we are fixing our health as we are at the mid forty. Who knows what lies ahead and we will be patient to step into the new horizon!
