First Syawal Ride - Shah Alam

Halim and I decided to visit Azad's new house in Shah Alam. Being the capital for Selangor State, Shah Alam may be what Putrajaya will look like in 20 years time.

I remembered Shah Alam back in 1985 ( 20 years ago) when I was studying there. Azad's place is just next to the entrance to the Bukit Cahaya Agriculture Park, located just a block from the apartment block where I used to stay as a student of the College of Preparatory Study (KPP). Back then, the area was newly developed. God knows how difficult it was then to get anything there (not to mention the limited money I had then..) and the area was really hot as a result of land clearing..(it continues to flat out the area until today...).

Today, the area is quite a nice residential area with trees and tranquility... Suddenly, Alleycats' songs "sampaikanlah salam..cintaku padamu..." and "..Kerana kau... ku masih di sini..." flashed through the memory of the past...:-). Halim just could not be bothered.. His Dr Suzuki danced along the main road heading to Azad's recommended place...

Something is special in Shah Alam, if it is not for the famous lontong, we would not be there! If you are interested, the restaurant is at the back of UiTM Campus. Try it...I am not really a lontong fan, but I guess, if it is not good, we would have easily found a seat to sit in the restaurant!!
Meanwhile, Azad's Zephyr has just recovered from major heart transplant. New piston rings, new sets of everything internal, the bike just performs superb! Check out our pictures in front of the famous Shat Alam's mosque!!
