Air Asia to Gold Coast (November 2007)
We took advantage of cheap air fares recently to Gold Coast, Australia. Honestly, we enjoyed being there but the journey was dull. It was what cheap air fares are all about! Air Asia's Airbus used to service Gold Coast route, eight hours flight, was a silent flight. That means no radio, no music, no movies and of course, no TV. We were served with our preselected meal, and what we thought was western meals turned to be a foot long hotdog sandwich with onions.
My kids were disappointed, I had stomach upset after taking half of the hot dog and for the rest of the journey, we tried to sleep. Worst of all, the airbus was not fully sealed for some reason, created a whistling noise at certain high dB when cruising at top air speed (unfortunately, for the majority of the 8 hrs journey!!). I was told that the plane had to be grounded to fix the defect although it did not impose any alarming flying hazard. Perhaps, small failure such as that should have been rectified intead of showing that the airline was compromising the defect for money at their infant stage of their very first long-houl service!! I am not complaining much, but when we returned home a week later, the defect was still there. We opted to buy nasi lemak instead, mak datuk harga dia RM15! Ok-la, take your intertainment sets with you if you plan to use Air Asia...
This vacation, we went with our friend's family, Shahi & Norlia's family. Our kids enjoyed their companion and so did we. We rented two cars and drove around Brisbane to places. This picture is infront of Sea Wold. Kash liked her Nissan Pulsar's plate no. 067 KAK.
