Genting Trail Blazer (Nov 2, 2008)- 14km jungle run at Genting Highland

Sweating Genting jungle trail!!!
This run, or shall I re-phrase it as "this walk", was the ultimate challenge to my fitness this year. Yeah, I can say that again! Real challenge. My preparation for the run was not making the run easier, with flu and cold I sufferred after coming back from Jakarta prevented me from continuing my fitness preparation after the fasting month. With little coughs but big heart, I geared up early for the run, awaiting Azad and Halim at my house from as early as 5:00 am.
Climbing track, one of which, I was really at the edge of my limit!
0800 hrs at the starting line, with Genting Highland Resort at the back view.
As I said, this walk (for me) tested my endurance to the limit. I had never done any continuous climbing, running and walking for full 4 hours. The last that Halim did 3 + hours run was when Halim and Azad participated in the Bukit Gasing Trail Run early this year! Boy, the track was muddy and slippery, and no water station for about more than 10 kms.
Our clean shoes before the run.
Our shoes at the end of the race. Halim, Shahrul, Azad already cleaned their shoes, mine is still in its original look :-) It's worth it, just for RM65 a pair!
The proud medal owners!!
Halim and I were set to go 30 minutes behind the first group at about 0850 hrs. At 1300 hrs, Halim and I reached the starting line, realizing that the organizer had closed the arrival station. We were not the last to arrive but, there were a dozen couples we left in the jungle behind us, at least. We managed to overtake them while climbing the last hill. So, we did it !!
Halim and I as the run partner - I really respect Halim for his strength to complete this 14 km trail run in 4 hours !
Our dissapointing look for not given the medals, not until we beat the @#%?? out of the organizer to get our medals for completing the run. @#$$%??! We were proud of the Kelantanese truck dude for picking up the new medal bag and gave the remaining medals to the completed runners, ignoring the organizing @#$%%&! lady who made the noise... Thank you Dude and your are our true hero!!!
Peace!!!
I asked one of the lady runners to take this picture while she was catching her breath climbing up the final peak. She tought that I was kidding for the photo, but I really meant it :-. Notice my gloves on the stick? halim and I collected on the ground after the tree planting ceremony at the starting line. They're free!!
Our full team at the start. The usual runners - Doc, Mafiz, Halim, Azad, Lim Boon Kok, Shahrul (new regular runner now!),Wan Edrin and me.
Jungle track to Genting beb!! Believe it.
One more for the memory.
he he .. Trio... Where's Shahrul?
