Year 2009
This new year 2009 started with good action to stay healthy. I did my comprehensive blood test and other medical check-ups on Dec 31, 2007. Then on Jan 09, 2009, I went for a stress test (running on treadmill for 15 minutes).

The clinic at Desa Hartamas has a poster of Jennifer Lopez in front of the treadmill and the doctor said to me at the start of the test ... "... kejar betina tuh..". It sounds funny when an Indian doctor said that in Kelantanese dialect. The start of the test was a 5 minute walk on an inclined slope. Then, followed by 5 minute faster walk on a much steeper slope. At the third stage, I had to run for 5 minutes on max inclination which then followed by a much faster run on the same slope for the least 5 minutes. It was a tough run, at least for me as I didn't expect that at all. I completed the requirement successfully up to stage 4 on faster run but I quit at stage 5 after 19 seconds going through it...I was told that one marathon athlete completed 8 stages while I already retired at the entry level of stage 5...

I was wired up pretty well... taking them out after the test was another painful story...

A few bad ending for 2008 included my weight increase of 2 kgs from 80 to 82 kgs ( 2 kilos increase from October 2008 although I think I was totally fit in 2008. Cholesterol level has also increased to 6.8 from 6.5 two years ago and the doctor also advised me for closer monitoring on any cancer related indicators based on the spikes observed from my blood test. At least, I am thankful that I do not have a feeling that I will likely to live a very-very long life. At this age, I should ponder my preparation journey for after life while making the very best for the years ahead, Insyaallah.

Also, as the age gets older, the hair gets thinner and thinner. The fore-front baldness is appearing significantly nowadays. My barber has been very reluctant to shorten my hair everytime I ask him to make it short and neat! Halim used to say, it's not the hair that gets thinner, it's the forehead that gets bigger. Easy for him to say that, he does not loose hair, only the color gets changed to white and gray...Azad, if you're reading this, be thankful that you have a decade to catch up with me and Halim... ha ha..
